APRIL FOOLISHNESS

Late March/ Early April 2006

St. Patrick’s Day has come and gone for another year, thanks be to Jesus and the Holy St Joseph. I spent St Pats Day proper playing a solo for a country club crowd. They didn’t want to see or hear me disturb their Friday Lenten feast of a side of corned beef the size of an adult mastiff. I also had to contend with the U Albany NCAA game on the telly and it was a damn more exciting then what I was pushing.
The Sunday before was the last St Pat gig at The Garden Grill under the ownership of the Flanagan’s, Cathy and her dad Dan have treated us with such love and respect over the years, they will be missed. We weren’t able to attend the final night party on Sat 3/25 but did show the night before due to the ever accurate Times Union crack reporting
( key word crack).
The Sat 3/25 found the trio of Geo, Jimmy Kelly and Nick banging it out at the grand opening of JJ Madden’s on Rt 85 in Slingerlands. The place was packed and good tidings abounded, and did I mention the band was great. We wish all the best to Johnny Jeffers and his wife Kim who will be running the new establishment. They are poised for success being the only stop between Martel’s and Berne in the ever expanding suburban sprawl known as Bethlehem. I’m sure we will appear at JJ Madden’s in the future in some capacity.
This week finds Geo doing a solo show at the Purple Cactus on Rt 9W on Friday 3/31 and the band will bring the pain to Pinhead Susan’s In the Electric City on Saturday, April fools day. Check the dates on the site for all the details. Also we have been taking pictures at the all the recent gigs and hope to post them on the site as soon as we work out the technical issues.
My Met friends keep telling me this is the year, does that mean new uniforms again?

Peace to all,
Geo

IT AIN'T EASY BEING GREEN

Early March 2006

Green grass and green beer are right around the corner. Join us as we plow towards the start of yet another warm weather season of music and fun. This weekend the Albany, St Pat’s parade kicks off Saturday morning at 11 am launching a full fortnight of foolishness. God I’m proud to be Irish at times like this! (snide ironic aside )

Sunday the band will be at The Garden Grill for the 12th annual (for the band ) St Pat’s Sunday brunch. A long standing tradition at the Garden Grill and the last time for Cathy and Dan who will turn over the Garden to a new owner next month. This day is a family event with people of all ages to come together on the Sunday after parade day to eat, drink and socialize. The corned beef is an absolute must as is the Irish coffee. Join the fun and sing along with all the Irish pub songs and other such malarkey. Check the dates for all the detail on where and when.

Peace , love and Slainte
